“Foreign Decorations” Exhibition

“Foreign Decorations” Exhibition

In the nine years of His Majesty King Prajadhipok’s reign from 26 November 1925 to 2 March 1935, monarchs and rulers of many countries honored His Majesty on several occasions by presenting the decorations of their country through their ambassadors. For example, at the Royal Coronation, on the establishment of diplomatic relations, on the 150th anniversary of the capital of Siam, and during His Majesty’s visit to European countries in 1933-1934 before his abdication.

This indicates that King Rama VII, the last absolute monarch and the first democratic monarch of Siam was honored and glorified as the King with the embodiment of authority and as the King under constitutional law.

King Prajadhipok Museum and King Prajadhipok Institute recognizes the benefits of publicizing His Majesty‘s biography and royal duties through his foreign decorations. Therefore, the two institutions have decided to exhibit King Prajadhipok’s overseas royal decorations, from the royal estate of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni, which have been loaned by the Svasti family to the King Prajadhipok Museum.
